Kurt Kronenberg

Kurt Kronenberg (born February 4, 1905 in Aupitz , † July 6, 1987 in Bad Gandersheim ) was a German lawyer , pastor and local researcher . He wrote several studies on the history of the monastery, town and district of Bad Gandersheim as well as a novel and stories with references to town history. The regional historical research is continued by his son Axel C. Kronenberg .

Live and act

Kurt Kronenberg studied law and theology in Jena. In 1928 he became a labor dissertation (published 1929) to Dr. jur. PhD . In 1932 he passed the second state examination in law. From 1932 to 1939 Kronenberg worked as a church lawyer in the administration of the Protestant church in several cities, most recently as senior consistorial councilor at the German Evangelical Church and the Evangelical Church Council in Berlin. During World War II he worked in the military administration in Greece. After the end of the war, Kronenberg changed his profession and became a pastor : at the end of 1946 he passed a theological examination in Wolfenbüttel. First he took over a parish in Zorge from 1947 to 1949 , then went to Jerstedt for five years and finally worked from 1954 to 1975 as a pastor in the town parish in Bad Gandersheim.

In the 1930s he wrote many articles on family history research in Mansfeld , which he published as co-editor in Mansfeld Kinship Studies . From 1958 onwards, Kronenberg wrote several publications on the history of the monastery, town and district of Bad Gandersheim. He also wrote a novel and published a collection of short stories related to the history of the city.

Kurt Kronenberg's estate is in the Wolfenbüttel State Archives .

Honors

In 1971 Kurt Kronenberg received the Cross of Merit on the Ribbon of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit . In 1975 he became an honorary citizen of Bad Gandersheim. In 1989 a path on the Clusberg was named “Dr. Kurt Kronenberg - way ".
