Kurt Leschonski

Kurt Leschonski (born December 17, 1930 in Düsseldorf , † March 21, 2002 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld ) was a German engineer and professor of mechanical process engineering at the Clausthal University of Technology .

life and work

Kurt Leschonski studied mechanical engineering at the TH Braunschweig and received his doctorate in 1965 at the TH Karlsruhe under Hans Rumpf . After further scientific positions at the University of Loughborough in England and the TH Karlsruhe, Kurt Leschonski came to the TU Clausthal in 1971. From 1983 to 1987 he served her as prorector and rector. During this time, the Environmental Technology Research Association was founded . Kurt Leschonski played a key role in shaping the scientific community in particle measurement technology . He is considered the founder of the Clausthal Environmental Technology Institute (CUTEC) and one of the initiators of PARTEC, the most important international congress in the field of particle measurement technology.

Kurt Leschonski received offers to the TH Delft (1971), the TU Hamburg-Harburg (1979) and the University of Houston, Texas (1983). He was the recipient of American, German and Japanese honors and awards, as well as the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . Since 1985 he has been a full member of the Braunschweig Scientific Society .
