Kurt Meschke (born June 8, 1934 ) is a former German soccer player. In 1964/65 he played for SC Neubrandenburg in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Kurt Meschke appeared late in high-class football. As a 27-year-old he appeared for the first time in the 1961/62 season in the second-rate GDR league as a player in the Army Sports Association (ASG) Vorwärts Neubrandenburg . This season 39 games were played in the GDR league due to the change from the calendar year to the summer-spring game rhythm, of which Meschke played seven games. After his discharge from the National People's Army , Meschke moved to the neighboring GDR league promoted SC Neubrandenburg for the 1962/63 season. During this season, the GDR league teams played 26 point games, Meschke was called up twelve times. When SC Neubrandenburg was promoted to the GDR league in 1963/64, Meschke was only in one point game. In the previews of the league season 1964/65 he did not appear in the team line-up of SC Neubrandenburg, but played his only league game on matchday 12. In the encounter between FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and SC Neubrandenburg (5: 1) he was used as a striker instead of Friedhelm Boldt, who was not ready for action . After the end of the 1964/65 season, which ended the SC Neubrandenburg as relegated, Kurt Meschke no longer appeared in higher-class football.
