Kurt Ockermüller (born March 8, 1948 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author , director and lecturer.

Life

Ockermüller grew up in the 9th district of Vienna and graduated from the humanistic grammar school in Klostergasse (18th district). After studying at the Department of Film and Television at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, he also studied theater studies and philosophy at the University of Vienna .

Before directing for the first time, Kurt Ockermüller worked, among other things, as a unit manager, sound, camera and director assistant as well as an outfitter and actor.

Since 1978 he has worked as a director for television, theater (including Landestheater Linz ) and film. Among other things, he was the director of episodes of the series Schlosshotel Orth , In allerfreund and Ein echter Wiener does not go under .

Ockermüller has been producing television and cinema commercials since 1980. From 1982 to 1986 the Viennese did a teaching position at the Bruckner Conservatory in the acting class.

In 2000, Kurt Ockermüller staged the Upper Austrian premiere of the chamber opera The Emperor of Atlantis - or Death abdicates at the Former Concentration Camp Mauthausen Memorial . In November 2010 his first book was published with the title: A real Viennese does not go under - Das Mundlbuch at Amalthea-Signum Verlag, Vienna. As an eyewitness and participant, Ockermüller deals with the genesis of the cult television series of the same name from 1975 to 1979. In addition to retelling the content of the 24 episodes, the author describes numerous anecdotes and experiences during the entire filming period.
