Dainius Kreivys (born April 8, 1970 in Jonava ) is a Lithuanian politician and entrepreneur , member of the Seimas , former Minister of Economics of Lithuania .

biography

From 1977 to 1985 Dainius Kreivys studied at the 5th Jonava Middle School in Rimkai , where he graduated from high school . In 1989 he studied radio engineering at the Kaunas Polytechnic and from 1991 to 1995 he studied history at the Vilnius Pedagogical University . From 2006 to 2008 he completed an MBA for managers at the Baltic Management Institute (BMI) in Vilnius and wrote his master's thesis . In 2009 he defended his master's thesis on “Stability of the national currency in the context of currency crises: the case of Lithuania”.

From 1995 to 1998 executive employee in several small trading companies. From 1995 to 2008 he worked as a manager and chairman of the board at Lithuanian companies such as UAB "Baldenis" (1998), UAB "Saldo partneriai" (2005) and AB "Silikatas" (since 2008). From 2008 to 2009 he was a member of the Vilnius City Council. He used to be an advisor to the Institute of New Public Management; published several articles on the subject of macro and political economy. From December 9, 2008 to March 2011, Dainius Kreivys was Lithuania's Minister of Economic Affairs . His successor is his deputy vice minister Rimantas Žylius (* 1973).

Since 2002 he has been a member of the conservative Tėvynės Sąjunga party (the Union of the Fatherland - the Christian Democratic Party of Lithuania), a member of the Council and the Presidium of the Union of Fatherland.

family

Kreivys is married. His wife is Dalia Kreivienė, a civil servant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania . They have a son, Daumantas (student), and a daughter, Gabrielė Marija.
