Kurt Robert Samuel von Schirnding (born August 11, 1930 in Vienna , † November 30, 2010 in Cape Town ) was a South African ambassador .

Life

Kurt Robert Samuel von Schirnding was the son of the doctor Heinrich Schirndinger (see Schirnding ). He was a Bachelor from Cape Town University . He joined the foreign service in 1952 and was employed in the diplomatic missions in London , Bonn and Vienna . On October 14, 1960, he received exequatur as consul in New York City . From 1972 to 1977 he represented the government of Balthazar Johannes Vorster at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna . From 1973 to 1977 he was ambassador to Vienna . From 1977 to 1980 he was ambassador in Bonn . From 1980 to 1983 he was employed in a managerial position at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pretoria . From 1983 to 1986 he was the representative of the South African government at the UN headquarters . From 1987 to 1993 he was Director General of the South Africa Foundation .
