Kurt Schirra (born September 13, 1931 in Völklingen ; † May 17, 1983 in Saarbrücken ) was a German boxer who competed for the Saarland .
biography
Kurt Schirra was one of three boxers in the Saarland delegation at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki . He competed in featherweight . He was the only one of the three Saarland boxers to win in the first round by defeating Luis Aranguren from Venezuela on points. In the second round, however, he was defeated by the Hungarian János Erdei .
Schirra fought for SV Röchling Völklingen .
