Kurt Schnoring

Kurt Schnöring (born February 26, 1939 in Wuppertal - Ronsdorf ) is a German editor-in-chief , author and local researcher .

Life

Schnöring initially worked as a journalist in Düsseldorf and Cologne , then as editor-in-chief of the Wuppertaler Stadt-Anzeiger until the paper was discontinued in 1974. He worked for 28 years as editor of the monthly magazine Wuppertal-Magazin and the publication Wupperbrücke , an information publication for Wuppertal people living abroad. Until his retirement, Schnöring headed the press department for 26 years and was deputy head of the press and information office of the Wuppertal city administration.

The local researcher is the author and co-author of numerous non-fiction books and illustrated books on the history of Wuppertal and the surrounding area; by 2010 Schnöring was involved in over 40 publications. In addition, he imparted his local knowledge on city tours, lectures and readings. Today the pensioner lives with his wife in the Wuppertal district of Ronsdorf .
