Joe Romano

Joe Romano ( April 17, 1932 - November 26, 2008 ) was an American jazz saxophonist.

Joe Romano played from the late 1950s in the big bands of Woody Herman , Buddy Rich , Louie Bellson , and also with Wynton Kelly , Sam Jones , Billy Higgins , Art Pepper , Chuck Mangione , Barry Harris and Sonny Stitt ; In 1969 he worked as a session musician for James Brown . In 1987 he recorded with Frank Strazzeri under his own name . Romano took part in 48 recording sessions in the field of jazz, including a. also with Maxwell Davis , Sam Noto , Bill Watrous , Conte Candoli , Pete Jolly , and most recently in 2004 with Joe Magnarelli . He died in 2008 at the age of 76.
