Kurt Stögerer
Kurt Stögerer (born February 10, 1923 in Vienna ; † May 20, 1992 ibid) was an Austrian architect and master builder of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna .
Life
Kurt Stögerer was a soldier after graduating from high school in Vienna and studied architecture after the end of the Second World War. As a working student, he had been involved in the construction of St. Stephen's Cathedral since 1947. After completing his studies, he worked for the Dombauhütte. In 1957, Stögerer was elected master builder of St. Stephen by the Vienna Cathedral Chapter and appointed by Cardinal König. He followed Karl Holey . He married Franziska Maria von Klein-Wisenberg on November 19, 1955; there are five children from the marriage. He was appointed professor.
Stögerer was on 26./27. April 1958 invested in the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem in the Archabbey Church of St. Peter in Salzburg . He was chief commander in Vienna from 1975 to 1988. As governor of the Austrian province from 1990 to 1992, he founded the committees of St. Pölten, Eisenstadt and Klagenfurt.
