Kurt Wüster

Kurt Wüster (born June 29, 1925 in Lüttringhausen , today a district of Remscheid; † November 22, 1999 in Remscheid ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Wüster was born the son of a master knitter. After attending elementary school, he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, which he completed in 1942 with the examination of business assistant. From 1943 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . At the end of the war he was captured by the United States. Wüster passed the state technical examination in 1947 and then worked as a production engineer at Werkzeug-Union GmbH (DWU) in Wuppertal , most recently as a department head. In addition, he had joined IG Metall .

Political party

Wüster joined the SPD and was deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district of Remscheid.

MP

Wüster was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1980. From 1969 to 1976 he represented the constituency of Remscheid in parliament . In the eighth electoral term (1976–1980) he entered the Bundestag via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Honors

Wüster was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 26, 1997 .
