The Kuchin peak is 2,360 m high and prominent mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 10 km south of Mount Kristensen on the western slope of the Nilsen Plateau on the east side of the Amundsen Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1967 after the Russian oceanographer Alexander Kutschin (1888-1913), participant in the South Pole expedition (1910-1912) of the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen .
