KwaMbonambi ( isiZulu ; German about: "Place of Mbonambi") is a place in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal . It is the administrative seat of the uMfolozi parish in King Cetshwayo district .
geography
In 2011, KwaMbonambi had 2872 inhabitants. 77% of the population named isiZulu as their first language in the census. The place is located around 30 kilometers northeast of Empangeni , southwest of Mtubatuba and north of Richards Bay .
history
The place was named after the Zulu tribe Mbonambi who lived there.
Economy and Transport
The inhabitants live mainly from the cultivation of sugar cane and forestry .
KwaMbonambi is located on National Route 2 , which leads to Mtubatuba and the direction of Empangeni / Richards Bay. The Kwambonambi freight yard is located on the Richards Bay– Sidvokodvo line , which at KwaMbonambi runs almost parallel to the N2 and is part of the Swazilink rail project .
