Kyle is a city in Hays County in the US state of Texas .

The population was 28,016 at the 2010 census. In 2000, the population was 5,314, making Kyle one of the fastest growing cities in Texas.

history

Kyle was founded in 1881 by Captain Fergus Kyle and the location was chosen because it was on the International - Great Northern Railroad .

Personalities

Katherine Anne Porter lived in Kyle from 1892 to 1901. Many of her famous novels are set in Kyle.
