Kyllenios painter
The Kyllenios Painter is an Attic vase painter of the black-figure style . His creative period is in the second quarter of the 6th century BC. BC.
The Kyllenios painter is best known for his drawings on Tyrrhenian amphorae . He is considered a good artist and is witty and humorous in his presentation. On his name vase , which actually depicts the birth of Athena , Hermes plays himself in the foreground, which the draftsman lets say “I am Hermes from Kyllene”. Kyllene ( Kyllenios ) is the home of the god in Arcadia .
