Kym Carter
Lelia Kymberly "Kym" Carter , after marriage to Kym Carter-Begel (born March 12, 1964 in Inglewood ) is an American heptathlete . The 1.88 m tall and 80 kg heavy athlete celebrated her greatest successes at world championships in the hall.
- In 1995 in Barcelona she won the silver medal with 4632 points. In front of and behind her were two Russian women : Swetlana Moskalez (gold with 4834 points) and Irina Tjuchai (bronze with 44622 points).
- In 1997 in Paris she was able to almost repeat her performance from Barcelona with 4627 points and was rewarded with bronze behind the two German participants Sabine Braun (gold with 4780 points) and Mona Steigauf (silver with 4681 points).
In the open-air world championships she could not win a medal, but did very respectably with places 6 ( 1993 in Stuttgart ) and 5 ( 1995 in Gothenburg ).
In 1992 she took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona and finished 11th.
