The Osaka Dome ( jap. 大阪ドーム , Osaka DOMU ), officially since 2006, the sponsors name Kyocera Dome Osaka ( 京セラドーム大阪 , Kyosera DOMU Osaka ) is a baseball stadium in the district of Nishi of Osaka , Japan . The stadium is the home ground of the Orix Buffaloes from one of Japan's two professional baseball leagues, the Pacific League and the Osaka Gold Villicanes from the Kansai Independent Baseball League . During the Summer Kōshien ( 夏 の 甲子 園 , natsu no kōshien ), the most important national high school baseball tournament , which is held in the Kōshien Stadium , the home games of the Hanshin Tigers from the Central League are also played in the Kyocera Dome.

The Osaka Dome opened on March 1, 1997 and is mainly used for baseball games and concerts. The Kintetsu Buffaloes from the Pacific League played their home games in the stadium from 1997 to 2004. In the 2005 season and since 2007, the stadium has been used regularly by their successor Orix Buffaloes , who also compete in the Pacific League. Since the 2009 season, the Osaka Gold Villicanes from the newly founded professional Kansai Independent Baseball League have also been playing in the Dome.
The most famous musicians and bands who gave concerts in the Osaka Dome include Mariah Carey , Janet Jackson , Bon Jovi , Aerosmith , Beyoncé , Celine Dion , The Rolling Stones , Eagles , Paul McCartney , David Bowie , Billy Joel , Madonna , The Police , BTS and L'Arc-en-Ciel .
The operating company Osaka City Dome is 90% owned by Orix Fudōsan KK (ORIX Real Estate Corp.), which in turn is 100% owned by ORIX KK (Orix Corp.).
