L&M is a cigarette brand from Philip Morris GmbH, which is also sold in Austria and Germany . The name comes from the tobacco company Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company , founded in 1873 , the predecessor of today's Liggett Group Inc. , in which L&M was originally manufactured. Today the naming rights are with Philip Morris. The designation "light & mild" was banned in 2003 according to EC Directive 2001/37 / EC, as "these terms could be interpreted by consumers as an indication of a reduced health risk".

Cover
The L&M box has two different covers, on which the inscription L&M is printed once vertically and once horizontally for some varieties. At the opening of some boxes you can see a coat of arms with two lions facing each other, which are supported by the blue "L&M" logo. The pack is blue (Blue Label) or red (Red Label) depending on the variety. However, it is classic in red and white, as with the Filter Red Label or the normal full flavor . The design of the two products "L&M Night" in a soft pack and "L&M Soft Label", which is only available in a soft pack, is very similar. However, these are separate product lines with their own characteristics.
