Léon Gloden (born December 9, 1972 in Ettelbrück ) is a Luxembourg lawyer and politician . He is a member of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV), mayor of Grevenmacher and has been a member of the country's parliament since 2009 .

Life

Gloden is a lawyer by profession . He had been a member of Grevenmacher's municipal council since 2000, and was elected mayor of the city in November 2011.

In the 2009 chamber election Gloden ran in the constituency of the East, but ended up only in sixth place with four mandates won by the CSV there. As successors , he and Lucien Clement were able to benefit from the fact that among those placed before them, Octavie Modert and Françoise Hetto-Gaasch , two party colleagues switched to the government bench and therefore had to give up their mandate. In the 2013 and 2018 elections , Gloden then made the direct leap into the chamber. In the term of office that began in 2018, he is a simple member of five committees and also deputy chairman of the Committee on Institutions and Constitutional Reform.

Gloden is considered a big earner among parliamentarians. As of 2018, he was one of four MPs who, in addition to their diets of 7,200 euros per month  , reported further income of more than 100,000 euros per year.
