The spoon bridge is a road bridge in Berlin , in the Pankow district during the Pasewalker road , just before the exit to the A 114 is northeast and across the river Panke leads.
history
Old bridge
The old spoon bridge was built in 1930, the superstructure in the carriageway area consists of a rolled girder in concrete construction and the substructure is made of stamped concrete . The bridge is flat, built within a sheet pile box, the clearance is 9 meters and was 35 meters wide. The old bridge was used by pedestrians and road traffic as well as a double-track tram route and lines of various media carriers.
New bridge
The new bridge will be built as a frame construction made of reinforced concrete , will have a deep foundation made of vertically arranged large bored piles that penetrate the existing abutments and will be integrated into the load-bearing layers of the subsoil of at least 2.50 meters. Like the old one, the new bridge has a clear width of 9 meters and the width of the new bridge between the railings is 34.90 meters. Just like the old one, the new bridge will also be used to transfer pedestrian and road traffic, tram tracks and lines for various media carriers.

An investigation has shown that the bridge is structurally in poor condition and a replacement is therefore necessary.
preparation
In the case of the old and new bridges, various lines and cables are used by various line and media companies and therefore the cables were relocated before the actual construction work on the old bridge to be demolished. To ensure that the cables continue to lie above the Panke, a provisional cable bridge has now been constructed as a steel structure between November and December 2015 with administrative assistance for the line and media companies involved. The relocation of the water, electricity and telecommunications lines has already been completed. This was the prerequisite for the bridge construction work that is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Replacement building
The new spoon bridge will be built in three construction phases. Road, tram and pedestrian traffic will be maintained during the construction period. Because the old bridge will be demolished from east to west and rebuilt. Road traffic will be transferred to the respective remaining or already new bridge sections. In the second construction phase, the double-track tram tracks will be single-tracked over the bridge and relocated to the newly constructed 2nd block for the construction of the 3rd block. In addition, due to the new construction of the Pankow fire station in the immediate vicinity of the Spoon Bridge, road modification work is necessary. It will take place over a length of 145 meters with the fundamental expansion of Pasewalker Straße, between the junction A 114 and Galenusstraße. The expansion of Pasewalker Straße will take place at the same time as the construction of the bridge. The construction work will begin in the fourth quarter of 2016 and will probably last until the beginning of 2020. The total costs will be around 2.3 million euros.
