Lüneburg is a place in KwaZulu-Natal , South Africa . It belongs to the municipality eDumbe and is north of Vryheid and northwest of Paulpietersburg .
The place was founded by German Lutherans in 1854, settled and named after the German city of Lüneburg .
Lüneburg is located in a rural, undeveloped area near the Pongolo River , which forms the border with the Mpumalanga Province here.
