State Office for Mobility Speyer

The State Office Mobility Speyer (short: LBM Speyer) is a branch of the State Office Mobility Rhineland-Palatinate in St.-Guido-Straße 17 in Speyer .

He is responsible for around 1,600 km of classified federal roads , state roads and district roads in the districts of Bad Dürkheim , Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis , Germersheim , Südliche Weinstrasse and the cities of Ludwigshafen am Rhein , Frankenthal (Pfalz) , Speyer , Neustadt and Landau .

Around 80 people are employed at the office in Speyer, and around 190 more at the associated road maintenance depots.

On January 1, 2014, according to the 2014 street length directory of the LBM Rhineland-Palatinate, the maintenance of the LBM Speyer was 290.344 km of federal roads, 808.297 km of state roads and 471.936 km of district roads, a total of 1,570.577 km.

Service building

The office building in Speyer is housed in a former monastery building from 1930, that of the former St. Guido Abbey . It lies on an elevation, the Weidenberg. The St. Guido Abbey was founded in 1030 by Emperor Conrad II .

The abandoned and unused church of St. Guido east of the monastery building has since been converted into the synagogue of Beith-Schalom . The monastery garden, also to the east, which was also used as a vineyard in the past, was converted into a small park in 2013.
