Connection to the Paris – Marseille railway line

The LGV Interconnexion Est , short for Ligne à grande vitesse Interconnexion Est , is a high-speed route in France . It is 57 km long and opened on May 29, 1994 . The line bypasses the greater Paris area in the east and, when it opened, established a connection between LGV Nord and LGV Sud-Est . A link with the LGV Est européenne was added later when it was built . The LGV Atlantique is also connected via old building lines. This makes it possible for TGV trains to get from one high-speed route to the other.

Connection to LGV Est européenne

The route consists of two segments that meet at the junction triangle near Coubert . The western segment leads to Valenton in the direction of Paris and the LGV Atlantique. The southern segment meets the LGV Sud-Est near Moisenay .

The main segment heads north and meets LGV Nord at Vémars . At Tournan-en-Brie there is a threading out onto the Paris- Coulommiers line . Further north, the Marne-la-Vallée - Chessy train station connects the satellite town of Marne-la-Vallée and the Disneyland Resort Paris ; here you can also change to the RER A S-Bahn line . There are two connections near Claye-Souilly that allow trains from the south and the north to switch to the LGV Est européenne . The connections went into operation in June 2007. The Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport is served by the underground station Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV ; this is the terminus of a branch of the S-line RER B . A little north of it, the line meets LGV Nord at Vémars.
