The west location of the LKH Graz II is a regional hospital in Graz in Austria . It is part of the LKH Graz II hospital network and, like the Graz University Hospital, part of the Styrian Hospital Association. (KAGes). The hospital is located right next to the Graz Accident Hospital and together with it covers the clinical care of the west of Graz (right bank of the Mur ).

history

The west location of the LKH Graz II was planned in the nineties and put into operation on December 2, 2002 after almost four years of construction. One of the aims was to relieve the burden on the Graz University Hospital. Together with the Graz Accident Hospital and the Hospital of the Barmherzigen Brüder , both of which are within a short distance, it is structured in a hospital association that divides medical areas within the association.

In 2012–2013, Regional Councilor Kristina Edlinger-Ploder planned to merge the hospital with that of the Barmherzigen Brüder, whereby the management of the new house and the employees of the KAGes were to switch to the order. This failed due to the resistance of the employees and the population.

The formerly independent hospital was merged by the state government in 2015 with the former Sigmund Freud regional nervous clinic to form the “Landeskrankenhaus Graz Süd-West” hospital association with the aim of streamlining the administration. As before the administrative change, both locations continued to operate with their respective focuses and specializations. At the beginning of 2019, the regional hospitals LKH Graz Süd-West and LKH Hörgas-Enzenbach were merged to form LKH Graz II. At the beginning of July, the LKH Hörgas was converted into the Hörgas specialist center. There is no inpatient admission at this location.
