Philipp Christoph von der Lancken

Philipp Christoph von der Lancken (born October 31, 1617 - † July 2, 1677 in Stralsund ) was a Swedish-Pomeranian diplomat and chancellor .

He was the son of the court squire Rickwan von der Lancken (1587–1625) and his wife Elisabeth, daughter of the Rügen bailiff Balzer von Jasmund . Philipp Christoph studied at the University of Greifswald in 1634 , at the Sorø Akademi in 1639, at the Rostock University in 1642 and at the Leiden University in 1645 . In 1655 he became a councilor in Swedish Pomerania. From 1662 to 1664 he was envoy for the duchies of Swedish Pomerania, Bremen and Verden at the Reichstag in Regensburg . On October 25, 1670 he became Chancellor of the Royal Swedish Government in Swedish Pomerania.

Philipp Christoph von der Lancken married Anna Maria in 1648, the daughter of the secret chamber and district administrator Joachim von Mörder and Barbara von Schmatzhagen. The marriage had three sons and two daughters.
