Rickwan von der Lancken

Rickwan von der Lancken (* before 1582 on Rügen , † around 1645 in Güstrow ) was a German court squire and administrative officer.

Life

Lancken was the son of Rickwan von der Lancken the Elder . Ä. and his wife Emerentia von Krakewitz . Olof von der Lancken was a relative and, like him, a member of the Fruit-Bringing Society .

From 1589 to 1591 Lancken worked as a page at the Pomeranian court . In 1610 he married Margarethe, a daughter of Stoislaw von der Osten .

From 1629 he acted as captain and administrator in Feldberg , Strelitz , Ivenack , Wanzka and Wredenhagen . He carried out these tasks until 1636. In that year Lancken was appointed court master of Eleonore Maria von Mecklenburg , the widow of Duke Johann Albrecht II of Mecklenburg .

Prince Ludwig I of Anhalt-Köthen also came to Güstrow on his north German journey at the end of 1636. He took this as an opportunity to include Lancken in the Fruitful Society together with Georg von Peccatel , Fritz von Ihlenfeld and Hans Zacharias von Rochow .

The prince gave Lancken the company name of the eligible and the motto of the heart . Herzgesper or motherwort was given to him as an emblem . Lancken's entry can be found in the Koethen Society Register under no. 306. There is also the rhyme law that he wrote on the occasion of his admission:

That Hertzgespan is right for the heart,
then it takes away the fear and pain.
I am suitable drumb the heart am genand
Because the karfft this herb confessed to help him, In
all fear: That heart can steal from Christ
best of all,
we deserve nothing, we deserve nothing that brings the fruit that one suspects of
him 'Can have alone to live.

Rickwan von der Lancken died in Güstrow around 1645 at the age of over 60. Philipp Christoph von der Lancken was his son.
