The V 10 B were standard-gauge diesel locomotives , which were specially designed for works and connecting railways. The locomotives were built by Lokomotivbau Karl Marx Babelsberg (LKM).
history
The locomotive was a further development of the type N4 , which was delivered until 1957. The drive concept was adopted from this locomotive. It has very strong technical similarities with their Schmalspurpendant, the V 10 C on. However, this has one more driving axle. Based on the V 10 B emerged the more powerful locomotives of the later V 15 series .
The locomotives were delivered to Yugoslavia, Hungary and Romania, but also to China, Egypt and Syria. They were also used by many industrial companies in the GDR. The Deutsche Reichsbahn , however, did not receive any brand new locomotives.
