LMP-103S is a monergole fuel blend for satellite engines . It was developed as a comparatively non-toxic substitute for the highly toxic, corrosive and carcinogenic hydrazine .
LMP-103S is a mixture of ammonium dinitramide (ADN), methanol , water and ammonia . Its specific impulse and its density (1240 kg / m³) is higher than that of hydrazine . Because of its low chemical aggressiveness and toxicity, LMP-103S can also be transported in airplanes. Instead of full-body protective suits for the personnel who might come into contact with it, normal protective clothing for chemicals is sufficient.
