history
Wilhelm Fette founded a workshop in Hamburg-Altona in 1908 and the first hob cutters were manufactured in 1916 . In 2010 the operative division Fette Compacting and LMT Tools was founded.
The automotive industry is the key sector for LMT Tools. The core task is to ensure the delivery of all tools to a company. LMT has been responsible for tool management for a German automobile manufacturer in Shanghai since 2002.
In 2010, the company presented the world's first nanostructured multilayer coating for hobs. The Speedcore hobs presented in 2011 were a joint development by LMT Fette and the cutting material experts from LMT Alliance Partner Boehlerit.
