La Belle Etoile is a shopping center and 6 km west of the center of the city of Luxembourg at the direction Arlon running National Road 6 . The larger western part lies in the area of the municipality of Bartringen , the smaller eastern part on that of the municipality of Strassen . The border between the two communities runs right through the complex. It was opened on July 3, 1974.
General
La Belle Étoile is owned by the Cactus supermarket chain and is home to 105 stores. The business area extends over two floors. It is the largest shopping center in Luxembourg and the third largest private employer. 3000 parking spaces are available.
The largest renovation was completed in May 2013. The shopping center was expanded to a total of 105 stores. The area increased from 30,000 m² to 39,000 m². Almost a year later, in January 2014, expansion work began again. In addition to the modernization of the gallery, a two-story porch of 400 m² was opened at the main entrance. The amount invested in the 2013 expansion was EUR 50 million. 350 new jobs are to be created as a result.
