La Ferriere-au-Doyen was a French municipality with 111 last inhabitants (1968) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy .
From January 1, 1973 to December 30, 2015, La Ferrière-au-Doyen was a commune associée , i.e. a district that was partially entitled to self-government, within the municipality of Saint-Martin-des-Besaces .
With the incorporation of Saint-Martin-des-Besaces into the newly founded municipality of Souleuvre en Bocage on January 1, 2016 , La Ferrière-au-Doyen lost its status as an independent administrative unit on December 31, 2015 and was dissolved. Today the place is considered Lieu-dit ("place that bears a name").

La Ferrière-au-Doyen is located about 22 kilometers north of Vire-Normandie and about the same distance southeast of Saint-Lô . The A84 car route runs next to the village .
