Vire Normandy is a French municipality with 17,178 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Vire and the Canton of Vire .

Vire Normandie is the southernmost municipality in the Calvados department. It was created as Commune nouvelle as part of a territorial reform on January 1, 2016 through the merger of eight former municipalities, which are now districts of Vire Normandie ( Communes déléguées ). Vire acts as a "superordinate district" as the administrative center.
