Le Mesnil-au-Grain is about 25 kilometers southwest of Caen . The municipality is surrounded by Épinay-sur-Odon in the north-west and north, Banneville-sur-Ajon in the north-east and east, Saint-Agnan-le-Malherbe in the south-east, Bauquay in the south and south-west and Longvillers in the west.
