Bonnemaison is about 26 km southwest of Caen . The municipality is surrounded by Courvaudon in the north, La Caine in the northeast, Curcy-sur-Orne in the east, Hamars in the southeast, Campandré-Valcongrain in the south, Roucamps in the southwest, Aunay-sur-Odon in the west and Bauquay in the northwest.
