La Mitis is a regional county municipality ( French municipalités régionales de comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .

It is located in the administrative region of Bas-Saint-Laurent and consists of 18 subordinate administrative units (two cities, six municipalities, one village, seven districts and two unincorporated areas). The MRC was founded on January 1, 1982. The main town is Mont-Joli . The population is 19,050 and the area 2283.1 km², which corresponds to a population density of 8.3 inhabitants per km².
