Career
La Octava Dimensión was founded in 1974 by singer Santiago Mejia and bassist Reynaldo "Aldo" Vargas in Cali and played cover hits for the major salsa groups from Puerto Rico and New York City . Reynaldo "Aldo" Vargas was the musical director of the group of eight musicians, who called themselves La Octava Dimensión for this reason . Today the group consists of 13 musicians. In the mid-1980s, La Octava Dimensión firmly established itself in the international salsa scene. La Octava Dimensión belong together with Orquesta Canela , Grupo Galé , Grupo Niche , Fruko y sus Tesos , Joe Arroyo , La Cali Charanga, La Gran Banda Caleña, La Misma Gente, Orquesta Guayacán , Orquesta D'Cache, Orquesta Matecaña , La Sonora Carruseles , Los del Caney, Los Nemos del Pacífico, Los Niches, Nelson y sus Estrellas, Piper Pimienta, Quinto Mayor , Son de Cali and The Latin Brothers among the well-known representatives of the Colombian salsa style.
Her well-known hits include "Mañana No Pensare En Ti", "Candelario", "Es Mi Cali", "Ilusiones", "Prefieres Marcharte", "Trajiste A Mi", "Loco de Atar", "Compartir Mi Vida", "Se Que No Debo Quererla", "Eres Toda una Mujer", "O Me Quieres O Me Dejas", "Abusadora", "Te Amo", "Punto Final" and "Alma de Piedra".
