La Sarre is a city in the Canadian province of Québec with a population of over 7,500. It is located in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue administrative region .
history
The first white settlers came in the late 19th century. In 1912 the first white family settled permanently. In 1917, La Sarre was constituted as an administrative unit. The parish was named after the La Sarre Regiment , which successfully participated in the Battle of Carillon . In 1949 the place received city rights as a rural small town ( Ville ).
