Pierre Le Noir (born September 3, 1659 in Paris , † September 18, 1731 ibid), known as La Thorillière , was a French actor.

biography

Pierre Le Noir was born the son of the actor La Thorillière (1626–1680). After his father's death in 1880, he took on his stage name.

As a 12-year-old, he took on the role of Cupid in Molière's Psyché at Troupe Molière . But he played his first real roles in the provinces. In 1684 he made his debut in the Comédie-Française , but played only supporting roles until the death of Jean-Baptiste Raisin . Only then could he show all his skills in cloak and sword pieces, as a valet, an unknown painter or a drunkard.

Pierre Le Noir married the daughter of a comedian, Catherine Biancoletti, in 1885. From this connection three children were born. The son Anne Maurice and the three daughters Marie-Madeleine, Marie-Luise and Thérèse.

Pierre Le Noir was the doyen of the Comédie-Française for a long time and he played his last role in 1728, at the age of 69.
