La Vierge is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif . The summit with a height of 3244 meters is on French territory. The name means "The Jungfrau" in German.
The summit is part of a small, north-facing spur of the main Alpine ridge east of Mont Blanc . The rock needle rises from the Glacier du Géant glacier area . The distance to the southern French- Italian border is about one kilometer.
The first ascent of the mountain peak was made by the Englishwoman Elizabeth Burnaby on July 5, 1883.
