The Laacher Hof (also: Gut Laacherhof ) is an estate in Monheim am Rhein in the Mettmann district , whose management has been documented since the 13th century.

The stately Villa Schloss Laach stands on the grounds of the courtyard .

history

The Laacher Hof was acquired in 1886 by Baron Arthur von Eppinghoven , who sold it in 1909 to the mayor and pastor of Dinslaken . From this the court in 1910 went to Clemens August Engels (1885–1941), who had Laach Castle built in 1911 (according to another source, 1910).

Today the farm is a 200-hectare experimental farm owned by Bayer CropScience AG and has also been used as a venue for concerts.

The building is registered as a monument in the monuments list of the city of Monheim.

Building description

The farm is located in a nature and water protection area and is touched by the Langenfeld circular hiking trail, the " Posthornweg ".
