Laboum ( Korean 라붐 , stylized spelling LABOUM ) is a South Korean girl group that was founded in 2014 by Global H Media, a joint venture between the two agencies NH Media and Nega Network. The group officially debuted on August 28, 2014 with the mini-album Petit Macaron and the single Pit-A-Pat ( 두근 두근 ) . The group's official fan club name is “Latte” .

history

2014–2015: Debut with Petit Macaron

On August 20, 2014, NH Media and Nega Network published a first teaser of their new girl group Laboum. The date given for the debut was August 28th. On that day, the group officially debuted with the single album Petit Macaron along with the single Pit-A-Pat ( 두근 두근 ) . On November 3rd, Petit Macaron was re-released under the name Petit Macaron: Data Pack . The album also contained the new single What About You ( 어떡 할래 ) .

On March 26, 2015, the single album Sugar Sugar was released together with the single of the same name.

The first teasers for the third single album appeared at the end of November. Aalow Aalow was released on December 6th along with the single of the same name.

2016–2018: Miss This Kiss Yulhee's exit and Japan debut

On February 15, 2016, the group started a project on the crowdfunding site Makestar to raise money for their new music video. The set goal of 8,261 US dollars was achieved after just 4 hours and a total of 27,832.36 dollars had been collected by the end of the project. The music video for the new single Journey to Atlanis ( 상상 더하기 ) was released on April 6th together with the mini-album Fresh Adventure .

On August 23, Laboum's first mini-album Love Sign was released along with the single Shooting Love ( 푱푱 ) .

On March 22, 2017, a second project was started on Makestar to raise money for the second mini-album. The project turned out to be even more successful than the first. A total of $ 75,751.58 was collected. The mini-album Miss This Kiss was released on April 17th along with the single Hwi Hwi ( 휘휘 ) . Miss this Kiss made it to number 1 on the Gaon Album Charts and with Hwi Hwi Laboum achieved their first victory at a music show.

From October 2017 to February 2018 ZN took part in the casting show "The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project". She made it to the finals and became a member of the temporary girl group UNI.T .

On November 3, 2017, it was announced that Yulhee had left the group and her contract with the agency was terminated. Two months later, on January 3, 2018, FT Islands Minhwan announced the engagement to Yulhee through his Instagram account. On May 9, 2018, Minhwan announced that Yulhee was pregnant. He also named October 19th for the wedding ceremony. A day later, FNC Entertainment announced that the two were already officially married. Their son was born on May 26, 2018.

On July 24, 2018, Laboum released the single Between Us .

On November 7, 2018, the group debuted in Japan with the single Hwi Hwi . Just one month later, on December 5th, I'm Yours, the sixth single album, was released in South Korea.

2019: Two of Us

After Laboum on April 24, 2019 with Love Pop Wow !! had released their first studio album in Japan, NH Media announced on June 19, 2019 that the group was looking for a new member. The new member should only be with the group for activities in Japan.

On September 19, 2019, the first Korean studio album Two Of Us was released, together with the single Firework ( 불꽃 놀이 ).
