La-Boum is a pop band founded in Nuremberg in 1994 . She plays a mix of ska , folk and independent . The band was named after the film of the same name La Boum - The Fete .

history

The singer Gregor, the bassist Haui, the guitarist Butz, the drummer Popov and the accordionist Arne founded the band La-Boum in 1994. They borrowed the band name from the teenage comedy of the same name from 1980 with Sophie Marceau and Claude Brasseur. At that time they called their style "cat music". In 1996 the first CD Multiloop of the quintet was released. Two years later the singer Gregor left the band after a failed collaboration with a commercial music producer. La-Boum continued with four people for the time being until guitarist Chris joined in 1999. In the following years she tried different musical styles and brought out an electronic remix CD in addition to "amplified" music. At the turn of the millennium, the band went back to their roots and started making acoustically based music again. The new accordion player Armario joined in 2000. Numerous concerts followed in Germany and, from 2001 onwards, a holiday together with instruments every summer, which led La Boum as a street musician to Barcelona, Florence, Budapest and Vienna. In 2009 she celebrated her 15th anniversary in the ballroom of the KunstKulturQuartier with the current line-up with new drummer Basti and eight publications. The band's 20th anniversary was celebrated in the Hirsch, Nuremberg.

Concerts

In addition to individual concerts all over Germany, La-Boum appeared at a number of festivals , for example at the Bardentreffen and Blue Night in Nuremberg; Tollwood Festival , Munich; Wine Tower Open Air , Bad Windsheim; Flaming stars , Gera; Sziget , Budapest and Free and Outdoor Festival, Würzburg.
