Richard Hamann (Medical Officer)

Richard Hamann (born March 16, 1868 in Bensberg ; † February 3, 1956 in Bonn ) was a German medical officer.

Life

From October 23, 1886 to February 14, 1891 he was a member of the Kaiser-Wilhelms-Akademie for military medical education . In the three emperor year he was active in the Pépinière-Corps Suevo-Borussia. The Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin doctorate him in 1890 to Dr. med. He was an assistant doctor with Prussian regiments in the Rhine Province and with Kaiser Franz Garde Grenadier Regiment No. 2 . He then worked for ten years at the Psychiatric Clinic at the University of Jena . He was later appointed professor. On October 1, 1901, he came to the Medical Department of the Prussian War Ministry . From January 27, 1905 he was regimental doctor. On December 19, 1905, he returned to the War Ministry as a personnel officer. In 1907 he also became a member of the KWA Corps Saxonia. He remained in the ministry until the outbreak of the First World War , which he experienced as chief of staff with the chief of the field medical service. In 1920 he was adopted.

At the age of 71 he was mobilized in 1939 as a characterized general doctor in command of the (newly launched) Military Medical Academy and subsequently rose to general doctor zV (1941) and general staff doctor zV (1943). On August 1, 1944, transferred to the Führerreserve of the Army High Command , his mobilization provision was finally repealed on August 31, 1944.
