Edwin Coratti (born June 19, 1991 in Schlanders ) is an Italian snowboarder . He starts in the parallel disciplines.

Career

Coratti made his debut in the World Cup in March 2009 in Chiesa in Valmalenco and finished 39th in the parallel giant slalom. At the 2010 Snowboard Junior World Championships in Snow Park , he won gold in the parallel giant slalom and silver in the parallel slalom. The following year he won the bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom at the 2011 Snowboard Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham he finished 25th in the parallel giant slalom. At the beginning of the 2013/14 season he reached his first top ten placement in the World Cup with tenth place in Carezza . In April 2014 he became Italian champion in parallel giant slalom and parallel slalom. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , he came ninth in the parallel giant slalom. In the 2015/16 season he made seven World Cup appearances, four times in the top ten. In March 2016, he won his first World Cup victory in the parallel slalom in Winterberg and at the end of the season he finished ninth in the parallel world cup and fourth in the parallel slalom world cup. In the 2017/18 season he achieved four second places and one third place, fifth place in the parallel slalom world cup, third place in the parallel world cup and second place in the parallel giant slalom world cup. At the highlight of the season, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished eighth in the parallel giant slalom. In the 2018/19 season he won his second World Cup victory in the parallel giant slalom in Rogla and, with further top ten results, achieved 12th place in the parallel world cup and fifth place in the parallel giant slalom world cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2019 in Park City he finished seventh in the parallel giant slalom.

In the 2019/20 season, Coratti won his third World Cup victory in Rogla. In addition, Blue Mountain won third place in the parallel giant slalom and thus 12th place in the parallel slalom world cup, eighth place in the parallel world cup and sixth place in the parallel giant slalom world cup.

Coretti has taken part in 70 World Cups so far and made it into the top ten 21 times. Since 2007 he has also competed in the European Cup. So far he has achieved 18 podium finishes, including two wins. In the 2010/11 season he was third and in the 2013/14 season first in the parallel ranking. (Status: end of season 2019/20)
