The Lac La Potherie is a lake on the Ungava Peninsula in the north of the Canadian province of Quebec .
Lac La Potherie is located 30 km southwest of Lac Faribault and 70 km southeast of Lac Payne . The heavily indented lake is located in the area of the Canadian Shield at an altitude of about 205 m . Its area is 116 km. It is drained by the Rivière Cohade , a left tributary of the Rivière aux Feuilles .
The lake was named in memory of Seigneur de Bacqueville et de La Potherie, Claude Charles Le Roy (1663-1736). Lac Bacqueville , 90 km southwest, was also named after him.
