The Lac de Retournemer is an ice age glacial lake that is located in France , in the Grand Est region , in the Vosges department . The inflow and outflow of the lake is through the river Vologne . It is located in the Vosges , on the western flank of the Hohneck , in a chain of lakes that includes the Lac de Longemer and the Lac de Gérardmer further downstream . The Lac de Retournemer is located in the municipality of Xonrupt-Longemer , at an altitude of 775 meters and covers an area of about 5 hectares. Its length is around 320 meters, the width 250 and the depth a maximum of 11.5 meters. The body of water is located in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .
Attractions
At the inlet and outlet of the lake there are waterfalls worth seeing.
