Lac la Ronge is a lake in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan . The lake is of glacial origin. By building a dam, the water level and runoff of the lake are regulated. The water area is 1333 km², including islands, it is 1413 km².
The lake is about 250 km north of Prince Albert on the edge of the Canadian Shield . La Ronge , Air Ronge and Lac La Ronge First Nation are located on the west bank of the lake.
The lake is a popular destination. Leisure activities such as fishing, boating, canoeing, hiking or camping are possible here. The Lac La Ronge Provincial Park extends along the eastern shore of the lake.
The Lac la Ronge Dam was built on the Rapid River in 1966 with the aim of regulating the lake's water level. The dam is 3.1 m high and has 4 storage gates. The dam was renewed in 2007 and a fish ladder was built . The Highway 2 passes through the lake on its west bank and ends at La Ronge. Rapid River flows through Iskwatikan Lake to the east and passes Nistowiak Falls to flow into the Churchill River after about 15 km .

The following fish species are found in the lake: eyeglasses , Canadian pikeperch , American perch , pike , American char , herring vendace , coregonus , burbot , the sucking carp Catostomus catostomus and Catostomus commersonii .
