The Ladakh Range is a mountain range in the Indian Union Territory of Ladakh, southeast of the Karakorum Mountains .
The Ladakh Range extends from the Shyok estuary in a south-easterly direction over a length of 370 km to the border with Tibet . It is thus south of the Karakoram main chain between the rivers of Indus and Shyok. The average ridge height is below 6000 m. Leh , the capital of the Ladakh region, is located at the foot of the mountain range in the Indus Valley at an altitude of 3500 m .
