The Stones in the Park
The Stones in the Park is the film documentary of a free open air concert by the Rolling Stones on July 5, 1969 in London's Hyde Park . In addition to the Rolling Stones, a number of other bands appeared, but they are not shown in the film. The audience is estimated at 250,000 - 500,000. The film originally shown on television was released on DVD in 2003 .

For the Rolling Stones, the appearance was the first major live concert since their European tour in March and April 1967. It was also the first concert with the new guitarist Mick Taylor . Taylor had joined the band for Brian Jones , who had left the group a month earlier. Two days before the concert, Jones drowned in his swimming pool . The Rolling Stones made their appearance in Hyde Park to a memorial service for the dead ex-colleague.
The concert was organized by Blackhill Enterprises , stage manager was Sam Cutler , who announced the Stones as "the greatest rock & roll band in the world".

The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones appeared in the line-up of Mick Jagger (vocals and harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Mick Taylor (guitar), Charlie Watts (drums) and Bill Wyman (bass). At times Ginger Johnson and his African Drummers were on stage.
Before playing the first title, Jagger asked for silence to say a few words in memory of Brian Jones. He read two verses from the poem Adonaïs by Percy Shelley , which Shelley had written on the death of John Keats . Then thousands of white butterflies were released from cardboard boxes.

The film only shows a selection of the pieces performed and these not in their original order and not all of them in full length. Background material is also integrated, such as scenes in Hyde Park and interviews with Jagger. The performances of the following titles can be seen:
