Ladies Special Train
Ladies Special Train is an offer of Indian Railways in the public transport of some Indian metropolitan regions . These are trains or individual vehicles in trains that can only be used by women .
This offer consists e.g. B. in the greater Delhi or Mumbai (since 1992) in regional trains , but not on all lines . The trigger was numerous sexual harassment in local trains, which were up to three times overcrowded compared to the officially approved capacity. Ladies Special Trains are offered in both speed categories of regional trains, both slow (stops at all stations ) and semi-fast (stops only at selected stations). In addition to the complete Ladies Special Trains, there is also a reduced version: the Semi-Ladies Special Trains . These are trains that are accessible to everyone, but have some passenger cars reserved exclusively for women . The places where the corresponding cars stop are marked on the platforms .
